From Passion to Purpose: The SERO Story
As a child fascinated by the idea of making what I saw in magazines, I often found myself bending the 'rules' of traditional sewing to explore my creativity. Turning velvet into swimwear or using fleece for gowns, I was learning the art of making the imaginary wearable. These childhood experiments instilled in me a deep appreciation for the craft and the freedom it brings.
Today, as the founder of SERO, I extend that same spirit of innovation and individual expression to others. SERO is not just a sewing kit company; we are a platform that addresses the modern dilemmas of creativity stifled by fast fashion. By offering thoughtfully curated sewing kits, we empower people to reclaim the joy of creating while embracing today’s needs for a deeper connection to fashion, mental health and planetary wellness.
Solving Today's Problems with Threads of the Past
In a world where fast fashion dominates and personal connection to what we wear is often lost, SERO provides a solution that is both fulfilling and ecologically responsible. As decades unfold, clothing creation and purpose have evolved, and we are now at the forefront of the next evolution. While honing a skill, you are also engaging in a positive activity for your mental health. With an element of surprise and convenience, having a parcel shipped to your home is a small pleasure that can bring a great deal of joy into your life. A SERO sewing kit parcel prolongs that joy and enhances the feeling of reward when the project is completed.
SERO Today: Empowering Creators Around the World
SERO is about bringing sewing into the present, providing tools and guidance for everyone—from beginners to experienced sewers—to create clothes that are truly their own, fostering a sense of accomplishment and self-discovery. Our aesthetic diversity, paired with a community-driven approach, offers a space to share, learn, and grow together, ensuring that the art of sewing is passed down through generations, yet adapted for today's world.
Committed to Planetary Wellbeing
Our sewing kits utilize deadstock fabrics and trims sourced from across Canada, repurposing excess materials from larger production runs. We utilize high ply cutting technology in our own small cut and sew factory to ensure maximum efficiency.
Our packaging solutions also range from custom sewn bags made from deadstock fabric, which double as press cloths, to future kits packaged in recycled kraft paper boxes.
